Our school hours are from 8.30am -3.00pm.
Our School History
Harmony Montessori School, Buderim opened in February 1995 to cater for those children attending the Harmony Montessori Children’s Houses in Buderim and Caboolture, who wished to continue their education through the Montessori Method.
Following on the success in Buderim, Harmony Montessori School, Caboolture was opened in 1998, operating out of the Caboolture Historical Village with just 8 students. In 1999, it moved to its current location at 200 Old Gympie Road with 23 students and has now grown to over 200 students in 2022.
In April 2008, the Caboolture facility changed its name to Caboolture Montessori School.
Our Vision
To provide an exceptional Montessori environment that develops each child’s potential.
Our Mission
To prepare the school community and environment, to foster our core values of respect, responsibility, resilience, empathy and love, so that each child develops a lifetime love of learning.
This mission is best accomplished by:
- Providing a curriculum adhering to rigorous Montessori standards, informed by current thinking and research on child development and learning.
- Fostering a love of learning.
- Embracing a diverse student body in which students experience and learn to respect ethnic, cultural, economic and other differences and seek to identify common ground.
- Recognising that personal growth involves responsibility toward others and toward the Earth.
- Facilitating the involvement of parents, class directors, students and the larger community.
Our Strategic Plan
Our Strategic Plan is the guiding document that sets the benchmark for the standards expected of the Caboolture Montessori School to ensure continued growth. The Strategic Plan is updated on a three year cycle, where the goals and deliverables are revised each year. Recognition is given to those goals that have been achieved and those that are to be revised to meet the evolving needs of the School. The Strategic Plan also includes five year goals that provide a longer term view for the strategic direction of the School.
The Strategic Plan establishes the roadmap for the continued progress of Caboolture Montessori School and guides the decisions made by the Board. Please download our 2022-2023 Strategic Plan here.
Our Approach
CMS is committed to providing students with the opportunity to become self-motivated, confident, self-disciplined, responsible and caring adults. We offer a holistic approach to education aimed at developing the whole child. Each child is encouraged to take responsibility for their learning, discovering the responsibility of their actions as they grow. We encourage our students to become future leaders and thoughtful contributors to society.
CMS seeks to provide each child with a sense of the importance of making a contribution to the continuing stream of human progress. Learning the right answers will get you through school – learning how to learn will get you through life! CMS teaches students to think, not simply to memorise, feedback and forget.
The basis of our approach is the simple observation that children learn most effectively through direct experience and the process of investigation and discovery. No two students learn at the same pace nor do they necessarily learn best from the same methods. Our goal is to be flexible and creative in addressing each student as a unique individual.
CMS is designed to be a school where children can blossom. We seek to inspire a passion for excellence and to nurture curiosity, creativity and imagination. Our goal is not only to give students a detailed education, but to prepare them for life.

CMS is fully accredited by the Non-State Schools Accreditation Board (NSSAB) (www.nssab.qld.edu.au), the regulating body for independent schools in Queensland.
