Journey of Discovery is a unique immersive learning experience designed to provide parents the opportunity to see the CMS classrooms through a student’s eyes.  With the absence of children, the classrooms become the focus and therefore the Journey of Discovery experience is of the Montessori prepared environments and how these engage the senses.

Parents experience hands-on learning with the Montessori materials in each successive classroom. During this time, participants are encouraged to interact with the Montessori materials and receive lessons to experience the intentional and inherent learning built into the materials’ designs.

Through these experiences, participants can anticipate greater insight into how children at CMS spend their days immersed in learning and discoveries. Additionally, the experience helps to develop a more complete understanding of the Montessori materials and method, and are then able to understand more deeply the critical role that the environment plays in the children’s learning community.

At CMS, we invite all parents to attend our Journey of Discovery workshop at least once. The program has been purposefully designed so that it is accessible for our families. There is no cost for the experience, and we have settled on a non-discouraging timeframe of just two hours.
