Welcome to the Sea Turtles - Term 3 2022
This term, the Sea Turtle students were very excited to see the excavator off loaded outside our classroom. All of the cycle one children went to see it working on removing the hard court! Very exciting for all.
Sea Turtles - Term 2 2022
As part of our exploration of Chemical science , the Sea Turtle students have been exploring what happens when substances are mixed together. In this case glue and “magical liquid” makes slime.
Sea Turtles - Term 1 2022
The Sea Turtles have been busy settling into Term One. We are focusing on making new friends and getting to know our teachers. We are also learning more about Australia and the parts of our bodies – naming the external body parts, and exploring the internal organs and skeleton. Our favourite group games at the moment are “Sandy Girl” and “Sound Bingo”.
We have enjoyed preparing for the 2022 Multicultural Day.
Outdoor Time November 2020
Our Sea Turtles students have been enjoying some outdoor time!
NAIDOC WEEK November 2020
Here are some of the activities we completed in preparation for NAIDOC week.
Transitioning Term 4 2020
Caboolture Montessori School values educating our children through the Montessori philosophy and provides an environment to support our student’s development. It is our strong desire and mission to ensure our children are ready to undertake their educational journey in a creative and explorative environment: to support this endeavour we assess readiness during the transition/visiting time.
Transitioning started this week and our Prep students were very excited and a little bit nervous to spend some time with their new teacher in their 2021 classroom.
Term 4 2020
The Sea Turtles students have been very busy this term.
Insects Term 4 2020
The Sea Turtles have been learning about insects in term 4.
Together we have made lady bugs, butterflies and dragonflies. We have also been focusing on learning about the different parts of an insect. Insects are made up of a head, a thorax and an abdomen.
Grandparents Day 28th October 2020
As we couldn’t have our grandparents visit CMS this year, we sent home special book marks.
Multicultural Day 3rd September 2020
Kia Ora from the Sea Turtles Class! We chose New Zealand for our country for Multicultural Day and the children enjoyed learning about Maori culture. We were lucky enough to have Rana visit us and show us traditional Maori clothes as well as Poi.
On Multicultural day, the Sea Turtles enjoyed visiting Thailand, Brazil and Peru. They tasted food samples from each country and participated in lots of fun activities.
Term 3 Work 2020
The Sea Turtles have been busy at work this term.
Three Part Cards have been popular, particularly our new diggers set!
Creating a globe using our continent map has been a favourite. It involves tracing each continent, outlining, colouring, labelling, painting the ocean and then filling with shredded paper to create a globe.
Lots of language and math work has been happening. The children are so excited about learning their numbers and sounds!
Making a snack is part of the daily life of a Sea Turtle. Banana slicing, cracker spreading, orange juicing and apple cutting are available on our shelf.
Cycle 1 Outdoor Environment 2020
The Sea Turtles have been caring for our outdoor environment. They planted some seedlings in our new gardens and have cared for these plants by watering them and sprinkling crushed egg shells on them. We now have snow pea pods, flowers and lots of lettuce growing! We are excited to enjoy eating our yummy vegetables soon.
Baby Chicks 2020
The Sea Turtles were visited by some baby chicks recently. The Cotterill family bought them in to share with us. They were so cute! Some of them were only a few days old.
ANZAC Day 2020
Baking ANZAC biscuits to commemorate ANZAC Day 2020.
Asia and Chinese New Year
The Sea Turtles have been very productive so far this year! We have been learning about Asia, and everyone loved learning about Chinese New Year! We got to try on traditional Chinese dress, as well as make dragons and lanterns to celebrate. We’ve learnt about lots of Asian animals such as the Cobra, Yak, Elephant and Bactrian Camel. We have also been talking about the other continents and the children have been loving working on puzzle maps.
Food Preparation and Hand Washing
Food prep has been very popular in 1A – particularly apple and cucumber cutting. The children are learning how to offer to their friends respectfully, which they love!
Practical Life
Practical life is always a hit in the Sea Turtles! Brass polishing, flower arranging and necklace making are some of our favourites.
Number and Letter Work
Lots of us have been working on numbers and letters too. We also have some very excited Sea Turtles taking home readers!
